In 2014, 85.3% of the world's population had access to electricity, an increase of only 0.3% since 2012. This means that 1.06 billion people, predominantly from rural areas, still live without electricity. Moreover, wind power only accounts for a relatively small proportion of energy consumption despite the rapid growth in recent years.

At KK Wind Solutions, we are committed to enable a wind powered future and we want to be a part of bringing sustainable energy to everyone. By sponsoring Innovation Days, we are able to raise awareness on societal challenges and to foster a new generation of Wind Power Wizards*.

As part of the sponsorship to Innovation Days, KK Wind Solutions provided a case for the students to work on – namely to generate ideas on the accessibility of energy in their daily life and how to supply electricity to people in developing countries.

KK Wind Solutions was strongly represented at the event and acted as judge in the competition among the students when they presented their solutions to the case.

“It was great to meet so many engaged students and get their ideas on how to bring sustainable energy to all people in the world. We also got to experience the idea generation process, which will serve as inspiration for our own innovation processes going forward,” says Lasse Skov, Concept Development Manager, KK Wind Solutions.
