DI prize goes to Ikast-Brande for providing Denmark’s best conditions for local business
For the 7th year in a row, The Confederation of Danish Industry (DI) publishes a survey on the local business climate – enabling the different city councils to compare their own position and performance with fellow-councils, and for the second year in a row, Ikast-Brande is awarded winner of the prize.
DI bases the analysis on responses from 7299 companies that have evaluated the business climate in their council. According to DI, the purpose is to strengthen dialogue between companies and the local councils and put focus on local framework conditions. The conditions provided by city councils plays a major role for Danish companies’ ability to be competitive in an international context.
KK Wind Solutions, which have its headquarters in Ikast, hosts the formal celebration and handover of the prize from DI to the mayor of Ikast-Brande.
“I am not surprised that Ikast-Brande takes the leading position again. The Council has a very collaborative and enterprising approach and is quite engaged in local business. It has not rested on its laurels but is constantly working to improve. The Council has a strong group of leaders who consider local businesses their customers. It might be the entrepreneurship spirit from the Mid-Jutland textile industry that is very much alive in these people,” says Tommy G. Jespersen, CEO, KK Wind Solutions.
All in all, Ikast-Brande has earned the first prize six times and Herning one time.
