Strengthening our power conversion offerings
KK Wind Solutions has agreed to acquire ConverterTec Deutschland GmbH’s R&D department and IP portfolio to further strengthen their offerings within power conversion.
ConverterTec is a leading expert in power conversion solutions for the wind industry. With more than 25 years of experience, the company has delivered over 24,000 converter installations to onshore and offshore wind farms in 50 countries.
KK Wind Solutions will carve out the converter R&D department, intellectual property rights and test centre facilities of ConverterTec.
World-class centre of excellence
With this transaction, KK Wind Solutions will establish a centre of excellence for power conversion in Germany to develop world-class solutions for our customers.

In the coming months, KK Wind Solutions will ensure a continuous operation of the acquired R&D team and carefully integrate into the company, making the transition as seamless as possible for customers, suppliers and employees.
“The ConverterTec R&D department will contribute with additional converter expertise within KK Wind Solutions. As part of a leading electro-mechanical supplier to the wind industry, our converter R&D team will provide an array of engineering competencies and help accelerate the development of power converters,” says Kieran May, Managing Director of ConverterTec.
Both parties have agreed not to disclose the price or other terms of the acquisition.
