KK Group, the parent company of KK Wind Solutions, acquires PCH Engineering to strengthen capabilities and offerings within structural vibration monitors.
PCH Engineering is an industry-leading developer and supplier of vibration monitoring equipment, offering a wide range of monitor solutions for rotating machinery. Since the production of the first wind turbine protection monitor in 1998, PCH
Engineering has been the leading provider of structural vibration systems equipment to wind turbine manufacturers worldwide.
Monitoring the tower, blades, nacelle, main bearings, and gearbox is vital for the wind turbine safety. If these components oscillate, vibrate, or break loose, they can endanger the wind turbine and cause severe damage. PCH Engineering specialises in fast-reacting vibration measurements, enabling turbine owners to prevent or limit the impact of unexpected breakdowns.
“PCH Engineering is a strong company with an impressive product platform, and their profound competencies within vibration monitors are unparalleled in our industry”, says Chlinton A. Nielsen, Chief Executive Officer, KK Wind Solutions and continues:
“The acquisition will bring a new complementary layer to our existing digital product offering and enhance our capabilities within structural vibration monitoring while expanding our opportunities in the aftermarket segment. As wind turbines grow in size, the need for advanced safety, control and performance systems will increase. We strongly believe that customers and suppliers of both companies will benefit from this acquisition as we further invest in real time data monitoring, combining it with condition monitoring and our digital solutions portfolio, to deliver world-class wind turbine technology and systems end-to-end”.
In the months to come, KK Wind Solutions will ensure a continued and consistent operation of PCH Engineering and carefully start integrating the company, making the transition as seamless as possible for both customers, suppliers and employees.
“We are very pleased about the acquisition by KK Wind Solutions and want to ensure a good transition with respect for customers and our employees. KK Wind Solutions brings powerful technical capabilities and financial strength to accelerate the development and application of vibration monitoring on a global scale”, says Sune Lilbæk, CEO, PCH Engineering and continues:
“Together with all of the PCH Engineering employees, I look forward to us joining KK Wind Solutions on this
exciting journey”.
PCH Engineering was founded in 1989 by Carsten Holm, based on his core competences within vibration monitors. Together with his partner Leif Schaap, who joined in 1999, they transformed the company to offer advanced structural vibration monitoring of wind turbines and other rotating industrial machinery. Employing more than 25 highly skilled people from their headquarter in Denmark, PCH Engineering also has a presence in China. PCH Engineering delivers globally to OEM’s and utilities such as GE, Siemens Gamesa, Nordex Acciona, Envision, Goldwind, Sany and many more. Read more about PCH Engineering here.
